Obituary

Obituary for Jerry Alan Blanckaert Sr.

Jerry Alan Blanckaert Sr. of Arvada, Colorado passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 17, 2020. He was born March 8, 1946 in Denver, Colorado to Larman and Vivian Blanckaert. Jerry is survived by his loving wife Cherylyn, his three children and children by marriage: Jerry Jr. and Roberta, Siobhan, Kimberly and Seth; his much loved grandchildren: Dalton, Colton and Jake; as well as his siblings Gary (Connie), Mary, and Barry. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents and brothers Terry and Larry.

Jerry was proud to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force. Following his honorable discharge, he dedicated more than 30 years to AT&T and the Communication Workers of America (CWA) Union, and was a part-time journeyman electrician. He was a devout patriot, firearms, currency and music enthusiast, woodworking hobbyist, perfectionist, and jack of all trades. He was patient, kind, and known for always putting others before himself. He also had a wickedly quiet, but ingenious sense of humor. Above all he was a loving son, brother, husband, father, papa, and a friend to all who knew him. He will always be in our hearts and he will forever be missed.

Services will be held at Aspen Mortuary (6370 Union St., Arvada, CO) on Friday, January 31, 2020 with viewing from 10:00am-12:00pm and services from 12:00pm-1:00pm. Graveside service and salute will be at 2:00pm at Golden Cemetery (755 Ulysses St., Golden, CO). Reception starting at 4:00pm at Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery (10633 Westminster Blvd., Westminster, CO).

Jerry was a proud and dedicated blood donor. Blood donations in his name are gratefully welcomed at any Vitalant Blood Center location. Monetary donations may be made to the Lung Cancer Foundation of America, The American Diabetes Foundation or The American Heart Association
