I met Larry E. Alexander, RA53072311, at Fort Bragg, NC. in 1956. We were assigned to the 613th Field Artillery Battalion and we both worked in the same personnel office. We transferred with the unit to Pirmasens, Germany. The unit was redesignated 3d Gun Battalion, 80th Artillery and was later assigned to Bamberg, Germany. That is where Larry met and later married Sieglinde, and I had the pleasure of being best man. I left Bamberg in August l959 and returned to the United States for some additional military schooling. I later had the chance of spending the day with Larry and Sieglinde at Fort Gordon, GA. I maintained contact with Larry for many years. My last visit with Larry was at Colorado in 2018. I guess we were as close as brothers without being related. I will miss him.
