Obituary for Margaret Marie Shonka

Margaret Marie Shonka passed away on Friday January 31st 2020. She was ninety-five. She passed away after a short illness. Marge was born March 8th 1924 in Bee Nebraska. Her Mother and Father, John and Emma Bartunek, had eight children. Margaret was the sixth child. After graduating high school in Dwight, Nebraska she went on to nursing school in Lincoln, Nebraska. She married Joe Shonka in 1946 and the two remained married for fifty-seven years until his death in 2003. Marge and Joe raised five children. After retirement they moved to Wildwood Florida. For most of her life Marge worked as a Registered Nurse, most of the time on an I.V. team. She liked to play cards, bowl, and play golf and scored a hole in one twice in her life. She was funny and down to earth and loved to play practical jokes with her sisters. Marge is survived by her sister Delores and four of her sons, Joseph, Robert, Richard, and Theodore. She lost her son David in 2007. She has three grandchildren, John, Nicholas, Samuel, and four great grandchildren, Kelly, Cory and Elies Margaret.
