Obituary

Obituary for Marilyn Louise Windecker

Marilyn Louise Windecker, “Peggy” (81) peacefully passed away on December 17, 2019 at Parker Suites in Parker, Colorado.

Marilyn Windecker was known for her outgoing social wit, jolly smile and quick hospitality. She loved art and assembling crafts. It was not uncommon to find her at her kitchen table, as she assembled spiders made out of beads, or pieces of glass that found their way into her beautiful kaleidoscopes. She loved camping and fishing when she was younger. After her husband retired they traveled extensively with the Arvada Elks Club Wagon Train, crisscrossing the United States, Mexico, and parts of Canada.

During her stay in assisted living, she won the hearts of staff and volunteers alike. One staff member nicknamed her Peg-a-licious. She found satisfaction making Birthday cards, Thank you cards and other greeting cards for both employees and individual residents. Peggy was always exploring her artistic flare.

Marilyn was born on April 10, 1938, to Forest Reuben Conover and Mary Evelyn Greenfield Conover in Ft. Morgan, Colorado. She attended Wheat Ridge High School and graduated in 1956. She attended McMurray College for Women in Jacksonville, IL, where she studied art for 2 years. In 1958 Marilyn married Danny E. Carpenter and Jeffery Dale Windecker was born in 1959. She divorced and married Allen Earl Windecker on December 6, 1963. Allen adopted Jeffrey shortly thereafter. Marilyn instantly became the step mother of Robert Cecil, Brian Allen, and Myra Su Windecker.

Marilyn worked for Coors, Office Placement Service and Royal Metal Products as an office administrator. She was detail oriented and extremely organized.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Forest Reuben Conover, Mary Evelyn Greenfield Conover, and her husband Allen Earl Windecker. She will be missed by her children Robert Cecil, Brian Allen, Myra Su, and Jeffery Dale Windecker, as well as her 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
