Obituary

Obituary for Michael Renee Gonzales

Michael Renee Gonzales was born in Fort Morgan, Colorado on January 20, 1972 to Sabina Reyes and Jose Gonzales. Michael died on October 18, 2019 due to respiratory complications of pneumonia.
Although Michael was born in Fort Morgan, CO, he was raised and lived most of his life in Denver. At the age of 13 Michael was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) but he never let his disease define him. Through his life he was always a positive, kind and happy person. Michael had a love for playing the guitar, drawing, listening to any genre of music (Metallica was his favorite band) and meeting new people. Michael always loved being around kids especially his niece and nephews. Michael enjoyed his life to the fullest and spent all his free time outdoors until his health would no longer permit it.
Everyone that met Michael knew right away he was someone special and he will be dearly missed forever. He is survived by his mother Sabina Gonzales, stepfather James Baldizan, biological father Jose Gonzales, brother Shawn Gonzales, sister Angela Pena, niece Isabella Pena, nephews Adrian Michael Gonzales, Brady James Glenn, Julian James Glenn and grandmother Victoria Reyes as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Michael was 47 years young.
A celebration of his life and a light reception will be held at Aspen Mortuaries in Commerce City directly after the services.

To my big brother...I came along when you were already older but you and Shawn were always so good to your little sister and always kept me in line. I loved watching you draw, laugh and smile even on the hardest days. I am so glad you got to meet your niece and nephews and I promise your new nephew will know how strong, sweet and amazing his uncle is. I will miss you forever but I take peace in knowing you are with the angels and are no longer suffering. You will forever be my inspiration to remain positive when its hard and you will forever be my reason to keep moving forward. Please watch over mom and our babies and remember....I will forever love you More Than Words ❤️

Mike, this is so hard. I don't even know where to start. I have so many memories from when I was little and alot of them have you and Shawn in them. Hiding in the basement at grandmas when you guys pulled up so that you could find me and melinda. You trying to swing on the tire swing and it breaking lol. Sitting at grandmas house while all the adults were out and listening to music. I am gonna miss you so much but I know you are doing so much better where you are. You are able to run, jump, walk and just be who you are. I love you all the way to the moon and back. Until we meet again. Rest Easy, cuz.
